"Username or password is incorrect" on startup screen.
Hi all, I'm currently been working with a Dell XPS M1330 laptop which has many problems, ha. For some reason when I try logging into the domain with credentials that i know are correct, it bring up some error message... "Username or password is incorrect". I've logged in locally fine. When I try to log-in with various options e.g. safe mode the problem persists. Although before on the odd times, I was able to log-in on the domain on safe-mode. Another error; I keep getting... "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request". I read somewhere that this could be because the user I'm trying to log on as isn't recognized on Vista. So basically the user I use on my own laptop (which is Windows 7) cannot be logged onto Windows Vista. Any help? Thank you!

When a computer is joined to a domain, the actual client computer has a username and password that is automatically updated. If your computer account on the domain is corrupt (for any number of reasons), then you will receive the "Username or password is incorrect" message. Check the computer account to ensure it is okay. You may have to remove the account, reset it at the domain controller, and then re-join.

The error "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request" indicating, there was a communication error to your domain from your client PC.Please recheck your network cable and connections.Check your network card working or not?Confirm you are providing correct domain credentials for logging to domain, not your local credentials.Regards Jinish.K.G|HCL Infosystems LTD

I use this account to log into various computers and laptops though in different areas of our network, which therefore indicates that there may be a problem with the Laptop itself...? I tried to log on another location and it worked for some reason... Although the screen went black and messed up.

I was able to log-in successfully in a different location. The connection is well, because other computers are connected correctly. How would i check the network card? Simply going into Device Manager...? There's no yellow exclamation mark in device manager. I am providing the correct credentials.
